I actually find it much weirder to see my friends who bottle feed 3 year olds. Don't know why. Wonder what that world record is-- we know folks who still bottle feed their five year old.

I BF my first child until he was 2.5 and the second self-weaned at 3.5. I generally didn't BF publicly after e.g. about 12-14 mos with either of them, but if I had, yes, I would have BF "as in literally by the breast."

Feeding a 3 year old, like a baby, from a breast
or bottle is pretty odd in American culture, though you'll find die-hard defenders on DCUM, most the rest of us roll our eyes behind their backs.
