1. Societies need balance. You cannot have too much disparity between the haves and the have-nots, but you also cannot have too much of a wealth transfer either, from the productive classes to the unproductive classes. We are in that tug of war now.

2. Non-racists conservatives (like I think I am) sincerely try to be color blind. Judge based on ability, and try to give everyone a somewhat equal shot.

3. Liberals, in my/our view, see EVERYTHING through a raced-base prism. It is against our country's best interests to constantly divide us this way. Plus it is just silly.

You can treat someone as equal and still appreciate cultural differences. Not something that the Repubs get.

In the math world, repubs and minorities are what would be considered orthogonal sets.

I hate to tell you this, but in our two-party system both major parties are loose coalitions of voting blocs. The parties each seek to gain advantage by appealing to groups of voters. In fact, I seem to recall that Karl Rove was once widely admired for his understanding of political marketing and his very targeted tactics of voter appeal.

Because they don't bullsh*t people all day on MSNBC making promises to do x, y, z for various underdog groups just to get votes. Like

"I care for the poor."

"I care for AA's."

"I care for hispanics."

"Repubs hate medicare, hate the poor, hate AA's, hate hispanics," vote for me if you care about people, blah blah blah.

I'm not sure it's all the republicans' fault. I have family members who are staunchly democrats. Doesn't matter who it is or what they propose, they will never, ever vote republican.

They want them. They just don't like them.

Why is it you think Republicans have a hard time, (if they want to all) reaching across & working to improve their relationship with all minority groups? Do they just not care?
