Subject: won't capping/eliminating charitable contributions decimate non-profits/churches?
We make about $260k and give $25-30K/year to a variety of non-profits, many of which have very tight operating budgets.
If we lose the interest deduction we will stop 90% of this. Yes, we care about what these organizations but what pushes me over the edge to actually write the checks is the tax savings.
Won't this be replicated COUNTLESS times over for many people like us? How will churches, non-profits, heck even private schools survive?
