Does anyone know when Stokes application goes up? I know its usually October.

So far this thread mentions Elsie Stokes and Washington Yu Ying as 2 schools that use the order of application method, and Washington Latin as 1 school that used to use that method.

Which other schools are the many, many? Thanks

No. They didn't stop ordering the waitlist by time and date. I know that for a fact. Perhaps that is the plan for the future but for the last two years, they have pulled names for available slots by random lottery and then ordered the wairlist by time and date.

Yes, Latin. Although it seems for the past two years they have gone through the entire waitlist, so it didn't really matter in the long run. That said, I was definitely one of the parents turning in the app first thing on the first day just in case.

Latin does it this way as well. I know of a family who faxed their application in at 12:01 am on the first day they were accepted for this reason.

Gotcha on defending Yu Ying, etc., etc. Just wondering if ANY OTHER SCHOOLS do it this way.

Yu Ying for 2012-13 had a lottery for about 40 non sibling slots. So everyone had an equal shot at those slots. Then, the WL was ordered by application submission order. About the first 40 or 50 of around 200 preK applicants initially on the WL were offered slots.

Apparently Stokes and Yu Ying sort their wait lists based on date of application (meaning that, due to demand, the only people who get their kids in put in an application on the first day of the application period . . . if a lottery even occurs).

Does anyone know of any other charters that sort their waitlists based on date of application?
