Had lots as a swimmer. Someone told me to put put nail polish (clear) on them. I did, and they dried up and turned to dust and brushed off. This was after years of painful and unsuccessful treatments with dry ice etc.

The Compound W chapstick didn't work for me--it seemed like it would move off of the spot I had applied it. I've had good luck with the OTC freeze-off kits.

I know! I found it fascinating too, in a gross sort of way.

Our daughter's never came back and the divot healed up. Just see what happens. You might want to apply coconut oil frequently, since it's anti-viral.

As soon as it completely "shows" I will go to a podiatrist. Right now it's just the black dot and translucent circle. Any other home remedy treatments? I think mine has developed due to a sudden increase in activity (walking 6miles per day).

I'd stop treating now and see how they do. You probably got it all. Regardless of whether it's treated by a dermatologist or at home, they can come back. If you are concerned, you can skip the vinegar and just put duct tape on those spots.

I would def. switch peds. I used to get them a lot as a kid (swim team and refused to wear shoes in the shower) and my ped always took care of it. Friend's 5 year old son has had some pretty bad ones that his ped has taken care of as well.

But, if your kid gets these a lot and/or they are extremely painful (one friend's kid can't walk when she has one), I would go see a podiatrist.
