06:06 here... I second the suggestion of looking into having custom pieces built. I've had a number of items custom-made for my dollhouse... Found the artisans at some of the dollhouse shows.
Try to determine what scale you have (as a PP suggested), then head to the Molly Cromwell show next month to get some ideas and inspiration (on both the house restore and furnishings), and go from there!

I've seen them at dollar stores.

AC Moore has a limited selection. Michael's usually doesn't have much at all.
So you don't know what the scale of the house is? 1" is the usual for collector type dollhouses. Try measuring from floor to ceiling. 8-10 inches means it's probably a 1" scale house.

No, they don't have dollhouse stuff.
Sometimes you can find some stuff that will work for decorations but not furniture.
The AC Moore in Falls church has dollhouse furniture, dollhouse wallpaper, and some other items. I was there last week buying some.

If you really want, you can have stuff custom made. Do a google search. I found a few companies when I was looking at doll houses from my DC.

Second the recommendation for Forever Friends. Agree that Ruth is terrific. Her husband also restores old houses, does electrical work and is very handy at anything related to fixing or restoring your house. You may want to load it up and take it over there for him to look at and give you specific recommendations. Their prices are reasonable, no more than you would pay online. They are truly nice, honest, hardworking people.
They have somewhat regular store hours (I think something like 10-4) but the best is to call them at 301-774-3037 and Ruth will work with you on a mutually convenient time. Basically, if they are home... they are open but they do appreciate a courtesy call.
Anything you may want that they don't have Ruth will find it for you. They travel to shows all over the world and they have gotten some hard to find items that I've wanted. They are both liberal with advice so if you want to do some of the work yourself they will show you how.

Highly recommend Forever Friends. Ruth is awesome, has a great eye for detail and very helpful. Just call first to make sure she is open. Her selection is huge. It's a home based business but the store has pretty much taken over the house!

I have not been to either of the two stores listed below (yet) because my dollhouse has been in storage for a while. The store in Vienna closed last year.
There are also some miniature shows that travel around. These shows tend to have tons of different vendors at them.
Molly Cromwell Presents http://mollycromwell.com/ Looks like there will be a Molly Cromwell show at the Fairview Park Marriott in October.
Tom Bishop Productions http://www.bishopshow.com/ Looks like the closest Tom Bishop show will be in October in Williamsburg.
Good luck and have fun!

The only one I know of is in Ashburn, Happily Ever After.
Tiny, but a lot of stuff there.

Does Holton still have a dollhouse show? I would contact hobbyist organizations and find out what they recommend.

I am restoring an old doll house and am looking for a local store (Montomery County or Northern VA) that carries doll house furniture. I've found some online but would prefer a store that can help me figure out the right size of furniture for the specific (and vey old) house.
