I had comcast service in my old house. I called last month to cancel service intending to switch my new house to verizon products. The sales rep, however, gave me such a great deal for the new house, I decided to transfer and stick with the comcast service.
Fast forward a month later, I get my bill and it's about $50 more than was quoted. I called comcast and after an hour and 3 reps, they figured out the rep that sold me the service completely screwed up and didn't charge me for many of the add-ons. The good news for me is, they have all her notes in their system and see it was her mistake, rather than me misunderstanding. They've escalated it back to that original rep's supervisor, in sales, so they can decide what to do with my account. I'm waiting to hear how they'll handle it.
Now, on one hand I understand they made a mistake and the price is what it is.
On the other hand, a price was quoted to me and I remained a customer based on that quote. $50 isn't huge, but it is more than cable/internet/phone service with comcast is worth to me.
I'm guessing they'll honor their quoted price, since it's obvious it's their mistake, however I've been burned by comcast before, so I'm preparing to be told they will not meet that price as well. I wonder if there's any legal reason they have to give me the quoted price? I don't just want to just acquiesce to a higher monthly bill because they decided they made a mistake.
