Me too. I was a hardline communist until yesterday. Then, when I heard for the first time -- despite the fact that it has been repeated hundreds of times in this forum and probably millions of times on right-wing blogs -- that 47% of the population (most of them Republicans) don't pay federal income taxes, I immediately decided to vote for Mitt Romney.

I was not going to vote at all till recently. I am not enamored of Obama and I am definitely not a fan of Romney's. I have decided to vote for Obama though.

I made the decision to vote in Nov. based on the fact I really, really want health care reform to have a chance to work. I have not seen or heard of a Republican proposal to fix health care in this country.

Romeny is out of touch with most of America. It is scary how out of touch. He does not seem to understand that you can be incredibly hard working and educated and still not be in the uber rich paradise he inhabits.

Romeny's refusal to release more of his tax records still irritates me to no end.

I think the Romney campaign sucks! It is not well planned. We have campaign recordings calling us at 10:27 pm (last night!!!) reminding us to go to rallies, hang up's and strange requests.

I'm not undecided, so this is not a response to your main question. I apologize for that, and don't mean to hijack your thread.

But your comment about the government in our everyday lives caught my eye. Specifically, I wonder why someone who is in favor of a woman's right to choose and everyone's right to marry the person they love, places that among your Republican-sounding opinions. For a married hetero like me, too old to face an unwanted pregnancy, what government intrusions should I be concerned about?

I am. I'm registered as a Dem but have voted Republican in the past. I'm socially liberal - pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, etc. I'm also for the death penalty, believe in a strong and active military, and think the government is too involved in people's day-to-day lives.

I'm frustrated with the lack of change and the excuses being made by team Obama, but some of Romney's comments disgust me (though my conservative husband claims they're taken out of context.)
