Before I decide what to do, let me ask you this: are you aware of the context of that thread? This all started with this thread:

In which a mother related how she threw her nanny out of the house when she discovered the nanny had a gun in her purse. That led to about a half dozen threads satirizing the original thread. These threads were obviously meant to be funny. The "Nanny shot me" thread was just the last in the series. The other threads have all lost momentum and none of them are even on the first page of the Nanny Forum any more. The "Nanny shot me" thread would have also died were it not for the debate over whether it was funny or not.

So, knowing the context, does that change your opinion at all? Also, as an alternative to deleting the thread, could you just ignore it for a day or two and see if it -- like the others -- drops in to oblivion?

I am aware of how it all started. I just think that it got a little bit out of control with that thread and even as a "joke", I think it is highly inappropriate but I am willing to see if it dies down. Thanks for responding.

Sorry you feel that way however, I know there are others who don't find it funny either. I don't think that someone joking about being shot is something to laugh about when there are people who KNOW someone who was shot. It's just not funny at all and a very immature posting.


I do know people who have been shot, and they, unlike you have a sense of humor.
