A hard boiled egg????

Hahahahahahaha! I can't stop giggling.

I don't get it???

I just keep seeing the look on the faces of twelve 5 year olds, who just received a hard boiled egg as an after game snack. It gives me the giggles.

I know, you aren't bringing it for the team, just your own kid, but it is funny picture to imagine.

I did notice on the assigned list that some families aren't on the list while others are having to bring snacks to 2 games. *shakes head* Btw, soccer involved bringing a half time snack and a snack for after the game. The games are what 45 minutes long if that?

Okay, I don't do sports but is this a Stalinisque Totalitarian state? Can you not raise your hand and say "There must be some mistake because not only am I not available to bring Ho-Ho's on the 25th but I'm on this list twice and others are not on it at all."

I'm the snack mom for tomorrow. Bringing bananas and apple juice boxes. But I wanted to troll the parents, so I'm bringing Teddy Grahams and Kool-Aid drink pouches too. Muahahaha.

Kids who have allergies yet still won't eat what I've brought even though I've bent over backwards for their allergies. I even seen a parent go ape crazy on his child when I gave the kid an extra snack. Then there are games with nothing is brought for the team. Really... is all this drama necessary? Why can't I just bring my own snack and drink for my child to each game and be done with it?

Easy solution... don't sign up and leave immediately after the game. Don't hang around for the post game rah rah and snack time. Hustle DC off to the car. He might be a little bummed out for a bit, but at least you won't have to deal with all of the unpleasantness. After all, it is all about you, right?

This year we had sign-up slots for both end-of-game and halftime snack. For first-grade soccer. They have no assigned positions and at any given time half the team is demonstrating cartwheels or ninja moves. And yet somehow they can't run around for more than 30 minutes without catering?

OP, you must live in a really uptight neighborhood.

I have never encountered this issue, in 6 years and 2 kids worth of soccer.

I would imagine it's a team building thing, OP. I mean, everyone can go off on their own and eat a snack separately.

I'd also rather bring my own snack. Because I'll bring my kid a hard-boiled egg, a peach and water, while someone else brings Gatorade and Doritos.

Wow... sounds like you need to hang out with some nicer people.
After years of rotating snack duty, I've never had a problem. Let alone the above drama.
FWIW, most teams stop assigning snacks by middle school or so.
