Nobody would know who Sandra Fluke was if the Republicans had not hosted an all-male panel to discuss birth control. Medicare would have been less controversial had not Romney and Ryan attacked Obama for Medicare growth reductions that Ryan's own budget contained. Akin obviously shot himself in the foot. Most of the controversy now about foreign policy was caused by Mitten's poorly thought out statement falsely accusing Obama of apologizing.
One might begin to think that the Republicans are a bit inept at this whole campaigning thing.
It's the economy, stupid! -- on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
But we have been thinking about switching Thursday for Saturday because we want to make room for "It's the Immigrants, stupid!" day, which we have been laying low on because we want Hispanics to like us, but since they don't, why not?. Wednesday is all booked with "It's reproduction, stupid!" day and with Friday double booked on "It's world affairs, stupid!" and "It's Islam, stupid!", we are really feeling stretched. Sunday is out because we need that to walk back all of our bonehead comments from the week and to remind people that "It's the economy, stupid!" Wait, we forgot about "It's Obamacare, stupid!" and the budget. We'll just call that another flavor of "It's the economy, stupid" because it all involves money.
OK are we set? Now we have to get busy because we have to come up with something for tomorrow.
