OP here. We had just recently (with the dp) halved the booster dose b/c of some other issues. I have to talk with the dp again about this.

Thanks for the recs about food. We are very familiar with HANGRY and I always carry food for DS to have. He literally eats as soon as he gets off the bus, again at home, at dinner and again after dinner and before bed. I have noticed that they days the rebound is worse happen to be the days he "forgets" to eat his lunch at school. I almost want to show up at lunch to make sure he eats something.

I think the key is to make sure you get some food in them before the booster wears off, so maybe you should try he full 5 mg. what time are you giving him the booster?

Do you notice rebound after an extended release followed by a short acting booster? My DS is on concerta xr with a ritalin booster. I've noticed something similar to the rebound he was having just from the xr concerta. Right now we are splitting the ritalin pills. I'm going to talk to the DP about taking the whole 5 mg booster instead of the 2.5 mg he is currently taking in the afternoons. I assumed the booster was to prevent rebound. It almost seems like it's still happening (just later than with just the xr pill).
