It's sad that ACPS has such a horrible reputation that you assume immediately that someone was trying to start a flame war.

The reputation of the schools has nothing to do with the assumption. The wording of the post did, as I said previously.

Agree that one week is waay too soon to make this call. If you are basing this on teachers coming in to the classroom to help other kids, or kids leaving the classroom for help with these teachers, while your kids don't get these "extras" your assessment is off. Giving these kids these resources means that your kids classroom teacher has more time/space to teach your kid.
If you have concerns, don't hesitate to speak directly with your child's teacher.

How do you know what is going on? Are you there, getting reports, what? I'm just confused how you would know what time and resources are going to which students? Can you give a specific example?

It's 1st grade and it's been 1 week. You could be correct, but I'm just not sure how your ideas could change so quickly from what you thought at time of enrollment. To me your thoughts are just based on speculation at this point.

and we are pretty disappointed.

We are in one of the "better" schools but still a higher FARMS rate and we are finding that most of the time and resources are going to be dedicated to those students in that group. The students who are average or above average seem to just to be moved along.
We had high hopes and I realize we are only going into the second week but we are already looking at private school options. (Child was in a private PreK/K program before - this year is in 1st grade)
