Anyone who thinks this has anything to do with god has not actually watched the video.

Seems like an attempt at showing unified support for Israel backfired a bit. Shows to me that Dems are a big tent party with multiple hot button policy issues that doesn't act as a monolith.

Used to be the Republican Party was more critical of Israel and the Democrats were in the tank for Israel. Now the Republicans are all enthralled with Israel and the Democrats are shifting away - but looks like they couldn't bear making a genuine shift.

I wish someone would show some judgment here. Romney's starting to scare me. I think if he is president we could end up at war with Iran just to make his old pal Bibi Netanyahu happy.

Love this.

Fact Check: Pants on fire.

This is OP. To be clear: I'm most certainly not planning to vote Republican, no danger there. I get the reasons why someone would object to the vote, think it's about the clumsy voice vote and the principal at stake (I don't agree that a foreign nation has no place in the platform - for instance, it has in the past specified MFN for china, etc, right?). But I'm with you on separation of church and state. Just wish it came across better.

To the vote changer, sure, whatever. I'm sure you were really "with" us to begin with...not.

You are the biggest idiot in the world if this would cause you to change your vote. Have you nothing at stake besides your outrage? Get over yourself. Pray for a brain.

Trying to make nice with Florida voters and rich campaign contributors. Looks like it backfired.

Bull. You were never voting for Obama, but you should.

That poster has changed his vote to the GOP nearly a dozen times in the last year alone.

If I understand correctly, the booing was over the procedure followed to make the amendments to the platform, not the actual amendments.

I'm a Democrat but that was embarrassing.

Not sure why there should be a reference to a fairy tale in the official platform.

My FB feed is blowing up with giddy conservatives claiming that the dems have booed god. I've read a few media reports and it seems like a misstep. Obviously they're booing a clumsy vote and the failure to separate church and state as opposed to booing GOD, or necessarily Jeruselum / Israel thing, but what happened?

I worry that the dems hate god thing will be a serious thing.
