What about the National Cathedral?
I know they started a congregation a few years ago, so it is relatively young. I was thinking of checking it out.
Does anyone have any firsthand experience?

All Saints doesn't have a female rector on staff.

I am a cradle Catholic but now worship in a Lutheran church (ELCA Lutheran). Very close to Catholicism (liturgy is virtually identical) and in fact, espouses the kinds of reforms I would like to have seen in the RCC.

Thank you for the St. Columba's recommendation. I thought this was a Catholic parish!

I grew up and was married in the Catholic church, but we have raised our kids in the Episcopal church. Our family is very happy with the faith community we have found at St. Columba's (on Albemarle off Wisconsin). The services are beautiful, the philosophy acknowledges that faith can (and must) involve questioning, and there is a strong commitment to outreach.

BTW, All Saints dissented the decision to make Gene Robinson, an openly gay priest, Bishop of New Hampshire. You should know that it is among the most conservative Episcopal churches in the DC area.

Thank you! I know the church you're referencing. My DD went to pre-school there 12 yrs ago!
Not sure why didn't think of it but thank you for reminding me

I am Catholic, but not at all thrilled with Catholic mass. I want my kids to grow up with faith and religion in their lives, but just can't get my groove going with the catholic churches around here.
Have any Catholics on this board decided to go to Episcoplian services instead of Catholic. Do you like it? whats the main difference?
And finally, please recommend your Episcoplian church in either Bethesda, Chevy Chase or NW?
