We live near to you and use the MD gyms because they are close to get to on the weekends and more in line with the times we want. Marva Tots and Dynamite in White Flint.

All things considered, I think you should try Gymini in Herndon. Or try a gym with a VA All-Star team.

You can search for a club on the USAG website. Also, you can learn about the different types of gymnastics. If your daughter is serious about gymnastics, disagree with the poster who suggested an intermediate step. Eleven is pretty old to start and she already has six years in recreational. I know the MS clubs, but am not much help in VA.

Try Dulles Gymnastics. I know serious gymnastics kids who go there.

You may want to look for a program that does the Mason-Dixon competitive league (if VA does that, I know MD does). From what I understand, it's a little lower-key than the USAG program. Also, I'd advise calling all the gyms in the area and see if your daughter can try out at each of them and see what she likes/which program is best for her.

I would try Arlington Aerials, Arlington YMCA, Fairfax, or Cardinal. Capital in Burke is widely considered the best in the area, but they are really picky about who they allow on the teams so they don't have a lot of older girls at the lower competitive levels.
