Maybe you don't like wearing jewelry. Maybe you're from a culture that doesn't wear wedding rings. Maybe you lost yours. Maybe you never had a ring. Maybe you took it off and forgot to put it back on when you left the house (my usual reason for not wearing mine). Maybe it's at the jeweler's. There are a ton of reasons.

I only notice women's rings because I love to see the style or the set they picked out. I rarely notice men's rings, because I don't care.

I wear mine because I love it and think it is beautiful. My dh does not because he doesn't like wearing anything. He doesn't even wear a watch. We are a happily married couple. I just don't make a big deal out of it.

Rings are not common in other cultures. My parents have been married for almost 40 years and have never worn rings. I know a couple from Brazil that has been married for 10 and they don't have rings. Some people lose their rings and can't afford to replace them.

My father never wore his ring (his job requires working with chemicals, so he can't wear a ring at work and just got out of the habit). My parents have been happily married for 54 years.

What does "a creeper" mean?

If the couple looks like they have it together, I'd probably assume they were married and weren't wearing their rings, or were at least in a committed relationship with each other. It's much different than seeing a younger couple out with small kids that clearly don't belong to both of them--not that I would really judge that either, though. DH often forgets to put his ring on when we're out, so I just joke that it's my night out with my boyfriend while my real husband is stuck at home.

But how would you even know that the kid doesn't belong to both of them? My child is half black and she is very very fair. When you'd see our family together, I'm sure you'd assume she wasn't OUR kid but she is.

I know a few happy married couples who don't wear rings. I never thought much of it. (9:59 - you seem a little judgey.)

Of course I wouldn't judge someone for not wearing a ring. There are a million reasons why people wouldn't wear their rings. Some don't even have wedding rings. No big deal.

I notice and think you're either divorced (and feel sorry for you) or had a baby while single. If a Dad isn't wearing one I think he's a creeper.

DH and I rarely wear ours (we've both lost our bands...he got a replacement, I'm still waiting for mine to turn up). In the beginning, I always wore my band so everyone would know that DH and I were married. Now, I don't wear any rings unless it's a special occasion and I'm dressing up.

I wonder if people see us with our kids and wonder what our 'status' is. Do you notice these things? Do you judge?
