My husband lost his earlier this year taking leaves in the yard. We rented a metal detector. We found a lot of random metal shit in our yard but no ring. We concluded it must have ended up in the leaf pile that the county vacuumed. Replacing it was expensive since the price of gold has gone up so much. I would just ask if you decide to rent a metal detector to see if it picks up platinum. We rented it from a coin shop in downtown silver spring on Georgia ave.

With that said, we have turned the house upside down, checked the trash (ick), moved furniture, car interior, and left my name and number at the mall lost and found I visited earlier that day.
My ring is platinum so I wonder if a metal detector or magnet would help for check vents, etc. DCUM folks are pretty creative, so any ideas are much appreciated.

That being said, I'd be a wreck thinking either of my rings were missing.
