It was a public space. You will encounter everything. Yes, the mother and biter acted inappropriately but that's life. Move on!

He seemed about much DS's age, maybe a little older. He was a bit taller than DS.

I am sorry that happened to your poor DS! It sounds like that other kid has a shitty mother.

Wow. I have a biter and I would 100% mortified and humiliated if he did that in public (never has, only to his sister and daycare classmates). I would've immediately apologized after the first incident and left. Sorry that happened.

I had to pick up some items at Fair Oaks Mall this afternoon and took my 4 year old DS along. He wanted to go play at the indoor playground for a little while. We were there for maybe 5 minutes when another little boy came up to my son, pushed him off one of the climb-on toys, grabbed his hair and bit him on the shoulder. The mother of this little boy just sat there and did nothing. This little boy also bit three other children in addition to my son before the mother finally came over, grabbed teh child and left the playground. I find this behavior totally inappropriate. She never came over to apologize or to see how my son was doing. I'm glad that the bite did not break his skin (he bit through my DS's shirt), but it left a very nasty bruise. Another child was bitten on the arm and it broke the skin. This child was totally out of control. I wish I could have talked to the mother, but I had to tend to my DS. I'm so ticked off right now. I really wanted to have words with her.
