No. But information I have found here and reposted elsewhere, and arguments I have fine-tuned here have led two other people to tell me that thanks to me, they are reconsidering what was a sure vote for Romney and are more likely to vote Dem now. Mostly thanks to the Repub lady business problems. Thanks for that, you guys!!!!

It's certainly interesting to see what other posters bring up, as PP said, but I've never wavered on the fact that I'm voting for Obama. He hasn't been nearly liberal enough for me, but the alternative is too terrible to contemplate voting for.

No, but it has helped clarify some priorities for me.

And when someone makes a point I sometimes do research to see whether it is true or not. In the process, I learn something. For instance I saw a whackjob post yesterday about Obama hating the UK. I thought that was an off base comment so I decided to see if data would verify this. Instead I found that he is wildly popular in the UK. Since I assume that Brits are not going to fall for someone who loathes them, I decided that the PP's assertion was another falsehood spoon fed to the wingnuts. And while doing that research, I read numbers on opinion of Obama and the US for a number of other countries, and this was informative for me.

Also there are a few other posters who bring data to the table that I am not aware of. This is also helpful.

I doubt that people with the campaigns are in on these discussions, and I doubt that what anyone says here will influence anyone else all that much.

No. I respect that people just like to "talk" about their views though.

I disagree with your assertion that most DCUM viewers are in battleground states. DC and Maryland are firmly in the Obama camp. Virginia is the only state with a large number of DCUM users that is a battleground state.

Most people who frequent a political forum have likely made up their minds long ago. But, there may be the odd undecided voter whose mind can be changed. Nevertheless, I don't view posts here as political activism, but as simple entertainment.

Many different debates going on in this forum. someone asked if anyone really thought these threads would change anyone's vote. Well, I think it might. Some of these have had thousands of views, and there are lots of undecided voters out there. Most of the dcum viewers are likely in a battleground state. So, I see this as a pretty good and effective outlet to express my views.

So, just wondering: Anyone out there who has been following these threads and can honestly say it has helped you decide how to vote, or maybe even changed your vote?
