Thanks everyone. Bing's forecaster was very cool--priced it out of JFK and it said buy now! For fellow penny pinchers it was $100 cheaper to do 2 separate trips, RT DCA to JFK and RT JFK to FRA.

We are pricing flights to Edinburgh (some are via FRA) this winter during the holiday season & coming up at 900-1000 per person.

Try kayak.com. I tried a random date in October and got a $500 flight with one stop in Iceland.

You can check out Bing's fare forecaster, but that isn't a bad fare these days (not great but not bad)
