The professors and administrators care about you. There is a diverse student body. There are infinite ways to become involved on campus, and plenty of options for where to live/eat/study/play.
Also, Colgate has a much prettier campus than Hamilton College

Very active fraternity culture. Division 1 sports, which gives it a somewhat different feel than the D3 SLACS. 20 mins from Hamilton but I gather there is not much interaction between the two. Was my DCs first choice.
???
Colgate and Hamilton are basically right up against each other. The college bookstore is in Hamilton. DC and I walked from our hotel right in the middle of the town to the campus and it took 5, maybe 10 minutes.
Hamilton College, not the town of Hamilton. But thanks for the three question marks.

So, if you can handle the COLD then you should consider. O/wise, I'd pass. But aside from the weather, the academics are excellent. Friends DD graduated and is now attending law school at ND...got in without any issue (that was her first choice)...but COLDgate was not....nonethelless, she had a very good time.
