I went to Cornell Law School and there were a fair number of Colgate grads there. They seem to have liked it.

Colgate is a wonderful school with a beautiful campus without a doubt. DC got into Colgate and some of the NESCAC schools and decided on one of the NESCAC schools instead. She decided that the frat scene and emphasis on sports at Colgate wasn't for her.

Also, Colgate has a much prettier campus than Hamilton College

I graduated in 1994 and would say almost the exact same things as PP.

Division 1 sports, which gives it a somewhat different feel than the D3 SLACS. 20 mins from Hamilton but I gather there is not much interaction between the two. Was my DCs first choice.

???
Colgate and Hamilton are basically right up against each other. The college bookstore is in Hamilton. DC and I walked from our hotel right in the middle of the town to the campus and it took 5, maybe 10 minutes.

Hamilton College, not the town of Hamilton. But thanks for the three question marks.

Oh sorry, that makes more sense. I was confused.

Great academics, but a lot of drinking, even by college standards.

Friends DD graduated and is now attending law school at ND...got in without any issue (that was her first choice)...but COLDgate was not....nonethelless, she had a very good time.

middle of nowhere, very cold, but good academics. I was told when I visited that it was the type of place where you had to "make your own fun". Good campus eateries from what I remember (they served beer!!!)

I thought I'd add to the college inquiries. Here's another one which seems popular with the independent and MoCo schools. As with the other posters, I had not heard much about it before helping DC look at colleges. But so far, what we've heard, is good. Please share your experiences and observations.
