Yes! The sillies! That is it. Acting like a goofball. Laughing and sayng "butt" when she knows that word is not permitted in our house. Just generally acting like a fool.

So glad see this! I took my new K son to the doctor yesterday and he was bouncing off the walls like a madman.

Yup, happening here with my new K as well.

Yes, this is very common. they have to behave ALL DAY in school, and once they're in their "safe" environment (home), they tend to act out the stress. It will last a couple of weeks. You'll probably have some trouble with bedtimes too.

Well, my DD was at PK on Friday and the new K on Monday and she has completely changed in the sense that when she used to get home she was excited and happy to see me. Now when she gets off the bus she has this blank stare and is so serious or cool to engage me emotionally...

I asked was she embarrassed to hug or show emotion to me and she just laughed

My 4.5 is in JK and she is really challenging as well these days. Things which she used to do with no problem are such a battle. This morning just trying to get her to eat a 1/4 of an apple -- which itself was cut into 3 slices -- was a nightmare! This is a child who used to gobble down a big bfast! I feel like we are moving backwards, and not forwards. I am really having a hard time with this myself. I am like, I hope we are not moving in the wrong direction. I don't know where my sweet pliable little girl has gone. She is truly a beast sometimes.

Oh yeah, at the beginning of K and 1st grades my son was so grouchy! Give it some time and follow the previous suggestions.

Also try putting them to bed really early, we usually do bedtime at 8:30 but once school started I had him asleep by 8, it's a long day for them and they are usually exhausted by 8

Agree with PPs. Find the mix of down time and additional exercise that works best for her.

Yes ds was the same way last year. I had to give him a protein snack right when I picked him up (cheese stick or yogurt or something) and let him veg out for a while-like in front of the tv slack jawed for 30 min.
It took about a month of the crazies then he leveled out

She is tired and hungry.

In K they have to sit still much longer than in preschool. They aren't eating on the schedule they are used to.

Work on filling her belly with things that will stick, and give her some downtime to just zone out when she gets home, like watching TV for 30 minutes. Then send her outside to run around. This will all help her make the adjustment.

My daughter started a new kindergarten this week. She seems excited to go, and she's good while she's there, but at home she's crazy belligerent. Hitting her sister. Yelling. Trying to knock my hand while I'm pouring milk. Crazy. I'm thinking she's feeling stressed and this is how it's coming out. Anybody else in a similar boat?
