Our house has to be gutted - everything taken out and hauled away and most of it involves people with crowbars and hammers and dumpsters. Also we have logistical issues since our backyard isn't accessible except through the basement/house. The main reason we are digging it out and refinishing it.
Everything is going to be replaced except the facade/shell. The electrical and plumbing must be at least 50 yrs old. It'll be cheaper to build a whole new house on a clear piece of land.
Seems like the same exact thing we just did. It started as a 1st floor/master suite remodel but in the end they gutted everything. We can't quote a cost for you, but allow for AT LEAST 6 months. Maybe closer to 9.
