Dem here who responded earlier.

That's not going to happen unless the media plays into it.

I will say that if Romney and/or Ryans speeches are peppered with subtle shots at obama that play that play it close to the racial nonsense that any good from the speeches will be negated by the focus on the pot shots.

I am thinking that Romney and Ryan will avoid these references and play it straight to the vest but who knows.

Thry kicked Trump out of the event plans very recently so
I think they are trying to avoid more birther nonsense. It doesn't appeal to undecideds.

Odd not one republican prediction on this thread. Enthusiasm gap?

I say Romney will get a 3-4 point bounce which will be followed by Obama pretty much taking it away the following week.

By the end of both conventions, we'll be back to an even race I think.

im a dem but i dont think what i said was bias but you can think so if you wish.

+1 However you spell it. Good luck with your eyes; I'm looking for a new ophthalmologist myself.

Obama supporter.

I was just trying to help, since I agreed with your basic premise. I apologize if the spelling corrections came off as snarky. No worries - some people are just not good at spelling, iPad or not (my engineer husband being one of them).

Hope the surgery went well. Best wishes.

+1 (although it is hypocrisy and brought - sorry, had to be done)

from what I can tell, the more people see of this guy, the less they like him. And this convention sounds like it is shaping up to be even uglier than the one where the culture wars speech was given. People voting in the R direction are not voting FOR him, that's for damn certain.

I'm a Dem and hope the above are correct But I expect there will be a sizable bounce, because both Romeny and Ryan are bright and attractive, and the pros will be working hard to polish their speeches.

Fortunately the DNC comes later and will have the opportunity to rebound. We know Obama can give a good speech. And when Biden is on message, he can also be pretty impressive.

Should be fun to see how it all works out.

I'll go with whatever bounce Romney gets is lost in the noise. Nothing discernible, though the R's try to spin something out of it.

I'm obviously a Democrat.

Corrected. Sorry for the typos.
