How about chocolate spread? What is your favorite chocolate spread?

I did strawberries in melted chocolate and then top them with sprinkles. People think its super fancy but it only takes about 10 mins. Put them on a little tray from the dollar store or in a small basket.

If you are gifting to someone who isn't a non-drinker, last year I made bourbon caramel sauce around the holidays and brought jars as hostess gifts (used jam jars and covered the top with a square of fabric and tied with a ribbon).

Zingerman's http://www.zingermans.com/ does really nice food gift baskets if you're okay with a prepared basket. I'm a little snobby about food, and a Zingerman's basket is one of the best food gifts I have ever gotten.

I like baked goods from Praline. Cookies, breakfast pastries (if they will be consumed quickly). Agree on the oil and vinegar. Last year we got 3 bottles of olive oil for hostess gifts at a party and enjoyed them all.

I have my eye on an olive oil store I've seen at the mall and think something there would make a great gift. Could pair with good balsamic vinegar or great loaf of bread or go alone, maybe with a nice decanter.

Hello, I want to put together a nice gift for a colleague. Something small, like nice a nice loaf of bread with jam. Cheese and crackers or chips and dip. I do want something fancy though. What can you suggest? I know this may seem like a ridiculous question but I have no knowledge of fancy food.
