I agree. I, too, didn't have the care I expected to have from him and was really disappointed when he didn't show up when I had my 2nd IVF's Embryo transfer. We were told that he was on vacation! We had two different nurses during the 2 IVFs. We really liked the 1st nurse we had as she was very nice and caring. But, we didn't like the second one.

No opinion of Dr. Chang, but it is the rule at SG that you get whoever is on for that job the day of your retrieval and transfer, and not necessarily your own RE. I had no issue with that, as it really doesn't matter who does those procedures as long as they know how to do them. Do you seriously expect a doctor to modify their vacation plans so he can perform your transfer? That seems like a ridiculous, entitled proposition to me.

Same as GW, and I did not like it. CFA is good when it comes to this (IMO.) They really make an effort for you to have your RE do the procedure.

Dr chang is the best i will recommend any one to him. I had one failed cycle and now I'm 16 weeks pregnant. But also without god it wouldn't be possible. He is very straight forward and he was very much involved in my care .

i found him to be very uncaring and cold. i left the practice--went over to dr. hartog at gnu and had a wonderful, experience-- three separate successful pregnancies. Hartog left the area for Maine, tho...

I was with Dr. Chang in 2008/2009. I did 6 rounds of IUI with no success. Dr. Change recommended IVF after 3 failed IUIs, but he agreed to do three more when I balked at IVF. I was 37 PCOS. I was successful after my first IVF cycle despite not great egg counts (only 7 retrieved, 4 fertilized). My 2 yo twins are now running around. I will agree that I did not see Dr. Chang that often. However, when I did want to speak with him, he was always available. He did perform my egg retrieval. And though he was very good at discussing clinical numbers, he was also good at discussing emotional issues related to my family. Good luck!

You're lucky you had Jessica and not his other nurse. I think the nurse can have a huge impact on the entire experience.

I am with Dr. Chang, I was semi-successful the first time out (it ended up being an ectopic). I will be going back for round 2 next month (as soon as my beta tests allows). I am 40 and with the protocol he did, we were able to retrieve 15 eggs. Jessica is my nurse and I think she is great. I could count on her calls every testing day. Dr. Chang called the day after my retrieval to go over the fertilization numbers with me. We have a friend who also went to him, at age 43/44 (when all the rest of the doctors kept asking her why she wasnt doing donor egg). Her first two resulted in miscarriages at 12 weeks). The 3rd try is now 4 years old.

I'm actually 7 months pregnant now by Dr. Chang. I had a good experience, although I admit that we probably wasted some precious time with IUI treatments when I should have gone straight to IVF. He is very clinical but very thorough medically. I ended up having some other medical issues which he identified and treated. That said, the entire process took quite a bit of time and I have friends that had success much more quickly elsewhere.

Has anyone been treated by Dr. Chang at SGFC? did you get pregrant? if yes, after how many ivf/iui attempts, etc. How do you like him? We had 2 failed IVF cycles with him and don't know if should do the 3rd one with him again or see someone else? Thx!
