I want to do something about it today. Do I wash it or toss the bowl? It's a nice bowl but I'm worried about unleashing salmonella or some horrible food poisoning bacteria if I wash it and put it in my dishwasher. This was very bad to procratinate on it so long. I won't do that again!
What would you do?

Sounds like something on Hoarders.

Worth what, exactly? The risk of coming down with Salmonella?
Cleaning month old egg salad out of a bowl. The very thought of it makes me want to throw up, YMMV.

Wash bowl by (gloved) hand in your empty sink without splashing drying dishware nearby or other sundries.
Hot water and detergent are perfectly adequate to eliminate bacteria.
Clean counter top/faucet afterward if you are really paranoid.
