I'd make it come out of the realtor's cut.

$200- put stuff in storage and bought more colorful decorative pillows. $400k condo on cap hill.
$2k plus realtor fees of 5-6% all in is pretty high. I would think at that price range the price would determine the sale, not the incremental pricey staging.

No. We paid 500 and split it with our realtor.

That seems cheap to me - we were quoted $2k a month for a 2b/1b condo in SF. But, that is probably a reflection of the different markets.

If that's the consulting fee, it's about 10X too much.

If that's what it costs to buy or rent a couple of access pieces, do some painting, acquire a couple of pieces of art, it's fine.

Does this include furniture rental? If so, then yes, I think it is reasonable.

We used a stager and she charged a set price for just the advice (a few hundred dollars). She liked most of our furniture and only suggested we move a few items and buy a few small items. If you are renting a whole house worth of furniture, you should expect a much higher price.

This would be for a 3 BR single family home. It's a small house, definitely a starter house, and will probably go for approx $400K. Is $2000 about the going rate for staging for this size/price range of a house?
