we used Lebanese Taverna takeout for a friend's bridal shower and it was great. lots of flavor and good options. if your sis loves chicken salad, go for it. but i think a lot of people really don't like that kind of mayonnaise-y, stereotypically girly stuff. go for flavor!

If you're just looking for salad type foods, the Parkway Deli in Silver Spring/Chevy Chase has excellent chicken and fish salads. Just go and pick up some on the morning of your event, put them in bowls with spoons and you'll have a very nice spread.

I am hosting a bridal shower for my sister next month in Bethesda and starting to plan the menu. The shower is a lunchtime and I expect between 12-18 women to attend. I am considering cooking food for the shower but also want to explore catering options. I wouldn't need someone to serve the food, just prepare foods. The food will be served buffet style and I'm thinking of serving a variety of salads (e.g. chicken salad, etc.) and/or quiches with fresh bread - nothing too fancy or complicated. Any suggestions of caterers/restaurants/grocery stores? I thought about Balduccis and Wegmans although I've never used either.

Thank you!
