It depends on your child. The clips are to keep them attached to clothing in case they fall out or are pulled out of his ears. It minimizes the risk of losing the hearing aids. They don't actually keep the hearing aids in their ears.
I can see using them with toddlers, but older children probably don't need them.

It depends on the child. Once they are old enough to hand them to you instead of dropping them/letting them fall you can probably stop using them.

How old is your kid? My kid is 5 and wear clips, I was wondering the same thing. I think he will be wearing clips until he can put in his hearing aids himself. My kid has only had aids for a year.
