Have taken Tripper bus 3 times to/from NYC and paid only $20-$25 each time. Fifth ticket is free. Reliable nearly to the minute service. Free wifi and water. Bus is usually not too crowded, pretty quiet with safe drivers.

Vamoose has supper good service and tripper is not bad, Vamoose charges $30 and has many more schedules than tripper but tripper only charges $27 but Vamoose loylety program comes out much cheaper than tripper, Vamoose for every 4 $30 trips a total of $120 you get one free you get one free trip total to $120 for 5 trips vs tripper you pay $27 x 6 to get a free trip total $162 for 7 trips so if you will be traveling more than once go Vamoose

The bus is $25. Amtrak can't come anywhere close to that.

Check out the rates on amtrak from Union Station. If you're able and willing to go at "off" hours you can get some good deals, and I'd much rather take a train than a bus.

I've taken Vamoose from Bethesda to NYC. It was a fine trip, though the wifi didn't work on the way up.

I've also taken the Metro to Union Station where you can pick up Amtrak or other bus lines. Megabus is my current fave.

New to the area and planning to head up to NYC in September. Leaving from Bethesda. Is there any significant difference between these two? Is there another bus or transport option that is easy from Bethesda?
