So then the answer is, yes, it would be better.

It works just fine elsewhere.

Your uncle can have a gun like the ones vets use, that do not kill.

My uncle lives in the middle of nowhere Alaska. He carries a gun everywhere he goes to protect himself against bears or wolves.

Oh pleeeease! Gun control does NOT mean your uncle in the middle of nowhere could not have a gun against bears and wolves. Or is he also mentally ill and a previously convicted felon??

Regardless, you cannot claim whichever way you try that he must have the latest military gear and the ability to fire 100 bullets per minute from a semi-automatic gun to defend himself against bears and wolves. No, not even in Alaska.

Ridiculous.

The op didn't ask, why shouldn't we ban automatic weapons or why shouldn't be ban the mental ill from having guns. She asked why wouldn't it be better to forbid everyone to have guns? Forbidding everyone from having guns would include my uncle.

Is there any other way your uncle can protect against bears and wolves? If i go camping to the mountains it means i have to carry gun to be protected?
I know not everybody carries guns but I think that if guns were banned it would be lest likely for any one to get them including your uncle and/or criminals.
There would be a black market probably but I think that the casualties of death caused by civilians would diminish.

I think there should be a ban on all guns, except when work related, such as cops. I do not trust half the people in this world to be able to walk a straight line, let alone shoot a gun.

There we go again. The guy threatening to be the "real joker" hasn't been charged/arrested he is being evaluated. How can guns not get to the hands of the mentally ill?

This forum isn't appropriate for a 14 year old. Why are your parents so irresponsible?

Because then only criminals would have guns, and my daughter would have been raped by the perv next door when she was 14 and I was at work.....Luckily, she's a good shot.

Google prohibition, baby girl, and see how well that worked. It is in the interest of the government to have us docile.

The gun lobby in this country is very powerful.

Can you explain it to me in the simplest way possible? Wouldn't it be better to forbid everyone to have guns? No one would have the need to defend themselves if guns would be banned right?
