You wouldn't need a permit for that. The permits allow you to park for more than 2 hours in restricted parking zones.

They are to be used by out of town visitors who end up parking in residential areas not commuters who try to screw residents and park in our neighborhoods. The thing is when we see someone hop out of a car in work clothes and walk towards Wisconsin and do it daily we can still call 311 and get you towed.
