we did toothbrushes into flouride rinse and then brush - no yucky gels or pastes that way

Hi -- no solutions, only empathy. My heavily sensory, speech delayed 6 year old has had a horrific time brushing his teeth. We've tried working on it in OT but he just really resists at home. So far, we've really dodged a bullet bc he has aced his dental appointments

She sees an OT but this perhaps is a SLP issue?

She says it's the flavor and feel of it on her tongue. She doesn't quite "get" how to spit, either.

I've seen her make a slight gag face when tasting it and we've tried 4-5 different brands now.

Any ideas ? Her dentist had no concerns at 4, her first visit but now at 4.5 we know she needs to be getting flouride.
