OP, thank you for posting this. I live in a bubble in my nice warm home in the District. Many people, if not most, on DCUM would call my NE neighborhood the hood. Whatever, it is secure, warm in the winter, cool in the summer, with a stocked fridge and freezer. My child is flourishing and learning in a great charter school and is not developing an ulcer because of lack of food, clothing, or shelter. My heart goes out to those children in that video. One poor child about six watched her mom eat a rat due to lack of food. I was unable to grasp whether or not the child also had to eat rats to survive, and all this in Las Vegas Nevada, USA.
