We've had the same reaction to Congo Camp. I don't get the feeling that my child really cares if he's there or not. For that kind of money, I want him to LOVE it. Also, 8 days in and he has yet to ride a horse, which disappoints me. It's one of the things that I thought would be special and that he would enjoy.

We were there the first week and there were two performances scheduled for Saturday, which turned out to be the day after the storm. GMU lost power, but the AFYP staff moved heaven and earth to keep us informed and they managed to pull off the second show that night. They have us for life.

Hoping people will provide reviews and recommendations (or camps to avoid) for 2012. The threads in previous years have helped me out but sometimes worry that the info is dated. I will start with our experience so far:
DPR Camp - Sports camp at a Rec center - well run and organized, my child enjoyed it but with the high temps activities indoors are limited due to space constraints.
Congo Camp - my child enjoyed it but I wasn't as thrilled with it as I thought I would be.
I can't seem to find detailed information about the DPR Camp. What are the activities? Is it a structured program? What time does it start and end each day?
