Following is from my child's school's "Parent/Student Handbook" found on our school's website:
Students should bring or wear tennis shoes or sneakers on days when they have physical education
to allow for a safe P.E. program. Students are prohibited from wearing shoes that contain wheels in
the heel, better known as Heeleys. These shoes when used in school buildings can cause injury to
oneself, other students, and staff when the wearer loses control and slides into other individuals.
These shoes were designed to be used outside in an area where children have lots of room to skate
and with the use of a helmet.
