I ask because I have seen tests for Kindergarteners that ask questions about telling time, or currency. Now not knowing either of these is not related to ability but rather to exposure. Depending on your environment including what Kindergarten program you attended exposure may be different.

I think what the test covers is a valid question...

You wont be doing your child any favors by practicing for the magnet test. A gifted child will do well regardless of practice.

They are quite secretive about it. And really, there's no preparation that you are going to give a kindergartner for it anyways, so no reason to try to figure it out.

I didn't even tell my child what he was testing for. Just said we were taking him to the school for some games, which is what the school suggested.

He did feel like I misled him that day, as there were no games. But didn't stop him from getting into the school
