we called transportation a couple of weeks ago and were told they won't have those out until a week or two before school starts.

What program are you in and how far is the commute?

Burnt Mills. It's a 20-minute drive for us. It's a PITA, but I really want my child to have another language, so we suck it up.

Thanks

OP here, I actually noticed that Rock Creek has this posted and none of the other immersion programs seem to do the same. I can actually do a web search and find previous schedules for a couple of the schools but I'm looking specifically for college gardens.

Call the school and ask for a copy of last years...not a guarantee but would give you a big clue.

Our neighbors yanked their kid out of a program after one year bc the bus commute was too long.

Thanks, thats interesting as time travelled and location of stops may determine whether you can accept the slot or not.

I attended the orientation at one of the immersion schools and was told that bussing schedules would not be provided until the week before school starts. Also, some of the immersion schools bus and some have a "central stop." MCPS staff are very reluctant to define what that means. So, it's a wait and see situation as best I can tell.

I'm concerned about transportation as I didn't get a chance to go to the orientation to inquire with real parents. My DC would be travelling quite far. Can anyone comment on how they have fared with long bus rides. Also any info on bus routes and time from drop off to pick up would be appreciated. Thanks.
