Let it come, already! Enough of the 100+ degree days! I feel like I live in Dorne.

She's a strong woman in a time when women are basically crapped on and relegated to child-bearing and little else. Obviously she does bad things, but I still feel sorry for the character.
How many books have you read? She's still ruthless and calculating--she's no Brienne the Beauty, another woman trying to make it in a man's world. I feel for the women of Westeros in general, but Cersei is definitely Joffrey's mother. Apple - tree.
NP here. I've read all the books (and started reading them when they came out over a decade ago, so maybe my opinion has evolved), but I also feel she is a symapthetic/tragic character. I think she's delusional, paranoid, and a little overproud of her own cunning (and bad at plotting, even though she thinks she's good at it), but I agree with first PP that her lot in life illustrates a lot of the challenges women faced in the past -- considering Brienne has almost inhuman strength (heck, she's almost as strong as Jaime), I think that she's less relatable because of it (though I like her much better as a character). Brienne never had to exercise "soft power" or protect her children through a regime change.
