I had that before I wasn't sure what it was but it goes away in like a week or two

Has he been hanging out in the pool or hot tub? I used to get that same type of rash every summer as a kid. It is bacterial, I believe.

My son has this too. Groin and rear. It doesn't itch or hurt, and the bumps come and go. maybe time to let the doc figure it out.

Maybe chigger bites?

My son had something like this last summer. Turned out to be bacterial infection. Had to get antibiotic.

This is the issue I'm having with my 8 year old. We are just trying to keep him clean and dry. When he comes in from playing outside and he is hot and sweaty, I have him change his clothes immediately. It seems to be helping.

I'm fine with keeping him from camp if necessary (he'd be embarrassed to change in/out of his swim suit). But do we need another pediatrician visit? I've read there's nothing for the doc to do?

Ditto 22:20. I was sure it was strep until I saw my then 7yo getting out of the tub and noticed his bottom. He had only minimal blisters on his feet, and almost none of his hands. There were some on his throat, which was why I thought he had strep. Sorry to say it, but I don't think you can send him to camp. My son's second grade teacher alerted the entire class in case others were infected.

When my DS had hand, foot and mouth the rash was mostly on his bottom. I don't think that is uncommon.

I read HFMD has painful blisters and appears elsewhere on the body (although may be butt as well). Don't know if tomorrow should be a camp day or a back-to-the-pediatrician day.

Hand foot mouth? Bumps/blisters can appear on the butt, at least in toddlers, not sure about older kids.

7 yo DS had a fever and sore throat Monday and strep test came back negative. Two days of Motrin and lounging around, per doc's recommendation, and DS seemed nearly back to normal today. Then during his bath tonight I was shocked at the rash on his bottom. Looks like really really bad diaper rash or chicken pox. He say it's not itchy and doesn't hurt. Looks awful; no other symptoms. Any ideas what this could be?
