Any success stories w/GW?

PP, hang in there NCIVF finally worked for me, I'm AMA, DOR and had an FSH of 18 the month my cycle worked. I wish I could keep trying at DF for another DC but the travel is too difficult now that I have a DD.

Me too pp and i did modified nc at Dominion. It was pretty easy, I ended up doing 4 days of ganrilex and menopur. Had a beautiful 6 day hatching blastocyst and a BFN The process was very easy. I am planning on trying again. I DOR which decreases chances of success but I am not ready to give up. I am not a candidate for medicated ivf because my fsh is 17.

I'm a surger, and my nurse told me to talk to Dr D about modified NC at Dominion. They give you something to suppress ovulation. Sounds like what PP said. I haven't done if yet though.

Wanted to bump this up to see if anyone has had a recent success with modified natural cycle at GW. Starting our first try next month. Anxious but trying to move past that. Have major abdominal surgery history which is why we need IVF (after trying naturally for 2 years), but am fairly young at 32 years old. Would love to hear anyone else's experiences... Thanks!

Just for a different point of view, I had 2 nc ivf cycles at dominion. They don't give any suppression meds, so also no need for the menopur. All natural except for a trigger shot when they deem it necessary. After retrieval you start progesterone and estrogen. Definitely about as true of a natural cycle as you can get, but with almost daily monitoring the second week so that ovulation timing is correct. Sadly it didn't work for me, but the process was a nice one.

Thanks for the detailed response pp. Was your cycle successful? I had a very simillar cycle but i used cetrotide instead of ganelex. I believe the cetrotide made my lining thin since i never had lining issues With my iui cycles. Did you have any lining issue during your cycle? And Was cycle successful? If not are you going to do another Natural cycle?

During a natural cycle, you start taking Ganirelix about a week or so into your cycle, so that the LH is supressed, and you don't ovulate on your own. Since Ganirelix also suppresses estrogen production, you begin taking Menopur along with the Ganirelix, just as maintenance, so the follicle keeps growing. Then when it's time for retrieval, you take a trigger shot, and 36 hours later, you go in for the egg retrieval. During your TWW, you supplement with progesterone, since your own natural follicle/corpus luteum was aspirated. When we did a natural cycle IVF, we only ended up taking the Ganirelix and Menopur two, maybe three, days. It was so much easier and more relaxed than conventional IVF. I think NC is a good choice for women who don't get many eggs with the stim drugs, like me, or for really young women who's husbands have MF. Of the three clinics we have been to, GW is the nicest and easiest so far.

I'm about to try in a month or two with modified nc @ GWU. No success, but I'm excited to hear that you got an embryo out of it. Did they tell you what happened? Did anyone say you could try for 3-4 eggs, so not a full-blown cycle but a little more than natural?

It is a natural cycle ivf but they give you medications to prevent you from ovulating on your own.

what is "modified" natural cycle?

Any sucess story? If so what was your protocol? I have a failed cycle with very good embryo and was wondering if i should give it a second try or do a conventional ivf.
