20 to UVA, 11 to VT, 10 to WM.

I only see one Ivy in the list: Columbia U.

One to Miami University in Ohio, once dubbed one of the "Public Ivies."

Agree with pp's. It gets a shrug. It's certainly not "terrific."

Agree. I don't think TC students have an "edge" but it doesn't look like their college chances suffer, either. On the other end of the issue, it will be interesting to see what the numbers are for the dropout rate this year, and see if they've made any improvement along that line. And will be really, really interesting to see if the experiment with the satellite campus next year translates into fewer dropouts.

Yep - lower admission rate that Virginia Tech now, and the academic profile of the admitted students is similar to JMU. Main difference I can see is that GMU gets more bright children of immigrants who either can't afford room and board or who want their kids to stay in the area.

The new dorms are very nice! Honors dorms are very nice! Unfortunately they are still using "older" dorms -- not so nice!

Considering how many kids come from low-income families, the high number going to NoVa I suspect is in part due to that.

I went to TC and went to Tech (good grades but lazy teen who didn't then bother with the essays- I should have gotten into UVA - but did for grad school) , my sister- UVA but also got multiple scholarships for out of state, brother -West Point and multiple scholarships..(he wanted to go).
