Oh good lord.

OP, I recommend you say something like, "Thank you for noticing what brand of clothing my DC is wearing! I'm totally obsessed with what others think, so let me assure you, since I infer you are judging me and/or esteeming my taste and/or estimating my discretionary income, that these items were purchased on sale. I am both financially responsible and compelled to dress my children fashionably, which I hope this short and probably unwelcome explanation has made clear."

Sure, if you feel uncomfortable having them think you paid full price, respond as you did here. "I love their stuff, and luckily I can find enough sales that I never pay full price."

Let me begin by saying I love their style. We do some Gymboree too and Hanna Anderson.

I love their prints, colors and most of all the quality of their stuff. The only thing that bugs me is the comments we often get. DC1 is 2.5yo, DC2 is 3mos old. There's always someone commenting on DCs' outfits no matter what circle. It could be the Little Gym mom, playgroup, playground, church, whatever.

I don't really know how to respond because they always bring up the price tag. The only detail is that I only buy DC's clothes on sale. I tried consignment but it's not worth it. Just yesterday I was there and got DS a few velour overalls for $11 a piece. Onesies were $8.99, rashguards were $9.99, one pieces were $12-$18, I got one of the $12 ones.

What do I say when people make comments? I say thanks for the compliments but I don't know what to do when they mention the price things cost in that store. Should I mention I only buy sale? I love when people share good deals with me... Do you comment on what other people's kids wear?
