There are a lot more rural roads so even a minimal amount of snow will cause more delays and closings than the closer in suburbs.

They have more snow days, because they are west & have more snow. Basically, every county in northern va closes when there is accumulating snow. Arlington misses fewer days than Fairfax. Fairfax is fewer than Loudoun, etc.

Subject: Does Fauquier County take more snow days than other counties in Northern VA?
We are moving to Fauquier and one of the things people have said is be prepared for the kids to be out with every snowfall. Any truth to this?
