You get stupid comments no matter what. We have twins, one boy and one girl. People "congratulate" me on my great job, and say things like "you got it done all at once" or "now you're all set!"

As if I had any control over this! So weird.

I have 3 boys and it's not any better on this side. All kinds of dumb comments. If anything it feels like more people think that girls are "better" to have as children than boys. That may just be my experiences talking though.

If you have two kids you only have aboua 1/3 chance of having a boy and a girl. No one should expect that everyone will have that combo.

I really think its just a conversation tool for most people. It is not said to be in any way dismissive of families with single-gender kids, its merely an easy question to ask to seem interested. I really dont think anyone means anything by it.

I have pregnant with my third girl. People ask all the time if we are going for a boy for #4!

I had two girls first, and got asked that question constantly.

I had another girl, and every stranger felt the need to ask.

My fourth was a boy, and it became "you got yer boy!!"

With my fifth, it was "are ya done now?!"

Now, I love going out with just my little ones, in different gender combinations, to hear the comments. The most fun is with my two youngest, a baby girl and a toddler boy:

"What a perfect little family!"

"Actually, no. I had four boys and four girls, and then this little lady came along and messed up the symmetry. Guess I have to keep going to get it even again!"

People ask because apparently you didn't get the memo. You are suppose to have one of each (or an equal distribution of sexes if you have more than two). This is the only acceptable family. I am sorry you have all done it wrong. I will try not to stare at you in public.

Ditto. I often wonder if my daughters suspect society thinks less of them because of other people asking.

Well I have 2 girls and do actually want a boy. I wanted DD#2 to be a boy and be done. It's really annoying when people ask since it's something I want very badly and obviously have no control over

I'm Chinese, so maybe it's cultural, but I'm always asked this. I adore my girls, never wanted a boy, and couldn't be happier. Those who have two boys, are you constantly asked if you want to try for a girl?
