Sometimes you want chilled baby cucumber compote with local, heirloom sweet onion, and sometimes you want fried Oreos.

Actually it is a lot hotter than Fenwick, Avalon, NJ, or certainly Cape Cod. The presence of concrete, machinery, many many businesses and the boardwalk make it far hotter than places without those features.

My girls are a new 5 and 9 years old....we just want to get away for a couple days and take them to a waterpark and amusement park. Since my law firm has the discount combo tickets I figured this is something we could try. I am not looking for fancy at all but not crap either, lol.

Any ideas on hotels?

ITA. We grew up summering in cape may and would drive up to wildwood once a week for rides and boardwalk fun. It really is blast for kids ands teens. I prefer a calmer, quieter beach and driving in to visit wildwood, but do not like to stay there.
