I work about 28 hours a week and make $100K. I'm a lawyer. I do transactional work.

I make $85K working for a university. Worked for 7 years before cutting hours, though. I think that's the key -- you have to prove yourself and then ask for PT.

I also telecommute 75% of the time.

Started full time and went pt after 8 years.

Did you start with 30 hours or cut down? If latter, how long did you work full time?

I work 30 hours a week and make over $100K. I don't have a professional degree, just a B.A. But I have a very specialized skill related to government contracting. Do you have a particular area of expertise that people would want on a consulting basis?

I'm trying to reduce my stress level and find a job that won't require bringing home work regularly. I'm a mom, and I need to be able to put a meal on the table and get the kids started on homework each night before dh gets home. Right now, I feel like I am struggling, so I want to make life easier.

I would think it would be fairly easy to work those hours in your field. I work 25 hours a week and make $80k as a CPA.

Not interested in going back to school. Fwiw, I'm pretty sure I could consult or switch to a nonprofit or CBO..Just wondering what else is out there, and curious to hear from folks who managed to cut back their work hours.
