Your frickin' DH grocery shops...stop right there!

I make my own detailed list and forget an item every single time. I only have myself to blame.

My SO debates every item on the list.

"Parmesan costs too much, so I got cheddar."
"What do we need capers for?"
"Salmon. Tilapia. What's the difference?"

So SO does not get to shop alone.

I can usually manage a list of items without missing anything. We do have a rule that if there are more than two items, the list must be written down though. That way, I don't have to do it from memory.(Which never ended well) Since I know I'm the one who will likely have to make a last-minute grocery run if we're missing an ingredient for dinner, I have a lot of incentive to get everything.

I'm with the PP. I'm the one who usually writes the list, and I still sometimes manage to forget an item. SO frustrating. I can't even blame DH.

I do this to my DH. He once came home with something that I am highly allergic to in a moment of panic. I feel bad bc I dont want to make him crazy, but I cant stop myself from being so particular.

Now, I do all the shopping, unless its asking him to bring home some milk. It works better for everyone.

Um...I do that, and I'm usually the one who's written the list in the first place.

Yeah, but I'm usually just so glad he went to the store and I didn't have to that I can let a missing block of cheddar slide.

I give DH a highly detailed, clearly written grocery list (of no more than 5-8 items), and he still manages to forget to get one or more items on the list. Happens almost every time.
